Hello, I'm New Here Empty
PostSubject: Hello, I'm New Here   Hello, I'm New Here EmptySun Mar 15, 2015 4:59 pm

Hello

I'm new to the forums, and new to racing. I've drove a bunch as a kid, and getting back into it lately. I know mostly old brushed stuff, since that is what my dad had, and I know little about brushless.

Right now I have a SC10RS with the sidewinder 3 and a 3800kv motor. I also have an EMAXX with the Novak Diablo, and a Stampede with a Castle SV3 and the 5700kv. I also have a bunch of my dad's old stuff (rc10 gold pan, traxxas hawk, a few custom pan cars, and some tamyias)

I race on Friday nights out at AMS in Grand Blanc, in novice class...but, I'm looking to get a new racing vehicle so I can practice with more than one model and when I feel comfortable with both my SC and whatever I get, leave novice and still not be in just one class. I was thinking 1/10 or 1/8 buggy, but I have a few questions.

I can get a hold of an electric Hot Bodies 1/8 buggy. Question is, will the system in my Stampede work with that buggy, on 2 or 3s? I know there are those "Pro-Lite" buggies, which are 4x4 short course trucks converted over, was just wondering if it was possible to do that with an actual 1/8 scale, and if the electronics I have would work.

Another question i have, if i go 1/10 scale, will a RC10 gold pan with the stealth transmission still be competitive? I'd probably go stock class with it (17.5 with blinky esc) I would need new rubber for it, and to actually put it together.

And last (if neither above happen) would a b3 buggy still be competitive in either mod or stock? and if so, would the 5700kv system i have be too much? would one of the TRAXXAS high torque waterproof servos be enough to turn (it is a supposed 125oz, i've never tested it, but it is fairly new)

Thanks in advance for the help
