so i was bashing my slash sincee i finally got a hold of some lipos and the truck just stopped moving.took it aparts and this is what i found.what could have caused it



the pinion gear broke but what could have caused that.well maybe this




isnt there suppose to be a bearing in there? if so where did it go?LOL

Looks like they forgot the bearing in china..
Spur gear devastation came from ROTOR wobble..Looks like u need a New motor ..or REBUILD that one..and some new gears..
rotor is probably bent ..Bummer

That's Weak.

Depending how much a new rotor costs you could probably pick up a Tacon 3650 3200kv motor for around $25 last time I looked.

but if it's not that expensive of a fix then you might as well fix it yourself.

you should be able to buy the rebuild kit for that motor and it will come with new bearings, new shaft and magnet. if that was a new truck, id let traxxas know what happend and they may send you a new motor for free.

just to be clear tho.... if your asking if there should be a bearing in the motor mount then there probably isnt.

i found out that its not missing a bearing,just looked like it.but i am still wondering why the pinion gear snapped like that.maybe mesh was to tight. i have no clue i am just giving up driving this thing anyway, all it ever does is flip every time i turn.kinda sucks the fun out of driving it.

Mesh is very important. It can screw things up if its to tight its to loose. In your case its a busted pinion which is very odd and rare to happen. Im not sure what can cause that but maybe a bent motor shaft can be the issue.

Check that motor shaft to make sure its straight. If not then rebuild kit or call traxxas. Its most likely a defective pinion. get some new gears and figure out how to mesh them correctly. good luck

Im pretty sure their is not even supposed to be a bearing there

i blew a gear like that in a 2 wheel drive becuase a small rock got wedge in the metal gear and just chewed up the pinion gear like that
